tags are the way a person %26quot;signs.%26quot; it%26#039;s a person%26#039;s name. kids who go out bombing and throwing their tags up everywhere are either marking territory or looking for street cred. every graffiti writer has a tag, and each crew (group of graffiti artists) have tags. so sometimes writers will do their tag and then throw up the tag of their crew or other crews they%26#039;re throwing up around.
