Dealership keeps saying tittle is tied up and giving run around. they keep giving me temp tags however I keep getting pulled over by cops and it is a pain it has been over 3 months and still getting the same BS from dealership. any suggestions on how to proceed. I paid over half the price of car down and making payments.
I brought a car in jan and still having trouble getting the title to get tags.?
You are one being pulled over, not the dealership. Tell them you need your title, now, or a refund of what you paid so you can go buy something that does have a title. If they aren%26#039;t forthcoming with a solution, tell them you have no choice but to file a complaint with the state attorney general, and contact the media.
Reply:Are you saying you did not receive the proper paperwork to register your car and get the tags? If not, go to the dealership and ask for the sales manager. Ask him nicely to expedite the situation. If he refuses, act a fool in the dealership. I do mean act like a fool!!!
he won%26#039;t call the police because his dealership is on the cusp of fraudulent behavior. make sure you bring all your paperwork with you. Hopefully we will see you on the news.
Reply:Contact the DMV immediately, provide the VIN and the dealers name and they will expedite the process. The dealer is dragging for some reason, I%26#039;m guessing he doesn%26#039;t have a clear title and is stalling trying to get releases. He should have had clear title before he sold, they oftentimes won%26#039;t do that though. Normal turnaround time from purchase to getting your registration/title is about six weeks, dealers have 45days in most states to complete their transaction, if they don%26#039;t, they can be fined/penalized, investigated, which is exactly what you need right now.
Reply:OK, you need to contact your state DA%26#039;s office. Clearly, the dealer doesn%26#039;t HAVE the title, or they would have turned it over to you.
Without a title, the dealership had no right to sell you the car. I%26#039;d demand all your money back, return the car, and buy a different one. And if the dealer won%26#039;t go for it, press charges against them, through the local DA%26#039;S office.
Reply:I would take it back and demand a refund, and dont worry about any of the papers you signed they will not hold up court since you have been getting the run-a-round from the dealership.
