You can use a fabric bag not a plastic leather needs to breath.You can use an old pillow case if you must cover it.I just brush mine down( It%26#039;s swede) and hang it up in the winter closet.
Reply:I use a fabric garment bag which allows the leather to breathe but keeps the shoulders from getting dusty. You can find them at the Container Store, but I%26#039;ve since found them cheaper at WalMart. They are washable and I wash mine occasionally when I notice dust accumulating on the shoulders. Some are made with zippers and some with a velcro closure. I prefer the velcro when I can find them because they tend not to scratch fine leather. Another hint, don%26#039;t put leather into a cedar chest for storage. The oil can discolor leather especially if it is light colored.
