Recently I have moved from South Carolina to Georgia. I%26#039;ve been here for a few months and I%26#039;m due to renew my insurance in a couple of weeks. I want to switch all of my information over from SC to GA but I%26#039;m unsure of the cost and I don%26#039;t want to start the process and become unable to finish it because of money. I%26#039;ve already found a new, cheap insurance provider. I drive a Ford Windstar van. How much, altogether, would you say a person on average would spend paying their GA taxes for their vehicle as well as switching over Drivers Liscence information and acquiring a new liscence plate or how much would your recommend a person like me put aside? I would be grateful for any help.
How much does it usually cost to switch car tags over between states?
Registration costs (state registration fee + ad valorem tax) in Georgia will depend on the make, model, model year, and location where the vehicle will be registered. 13 counties in and around Atlanta also require emission inspections.

Reply:Its hard to tell with out knowing the state tax for GA... I would think setting aside $100 to $150 for the insurance, you know to get it started.. Unless of course your going for the full six month premium.. Then probably double that.. Now for the switching the other info I think its around $25 for a new state drivers license.. Then around 33 for title change.. New plates around 65-70.. Again this all depends on GA taxes..Good Luck!!!
