Why are Israeli dog tags designed so that they can be broken in half?

Is there a specific reason?

Thanks in advance!

Why are Israeli dog tags designed so that they can be broken in half?
They are designed so they can be broken in half because in case of an emergency, someone can break off half of the dog tag to call for help and the other half is on the soldier for easy identification of the body. (The same information is on both halves) It is a more practical way of achieving what the US does with two dog tags.

It is also interesting that ours don't have the information that the US ones have, like blood type and SS number. They have a "soldier number" (which can be punched into a computer to retrieve health-related information) and a name.
