What can be done to get rid of skin tags without having surgery?
In the dermatologist office we usually numb the growths with Lidocaine (that does involve using a needle), then they are snipped off with scissors and cauterized with an electric needle (you wont feel it when they are cauterized).
Reply:Skin tags are harmless, but I assume you want to get rid of them for cosmetic reasons.





If this is true, I wouldn't advise trying to remove them yourself - it would likely lead to an infection.





Because I don't know the area/extent of your skin tags, I would ask a dermatologist for his/her recommendation. I'm sure they would know of some non-surgical procedures you can try to safely remove them. Good luck
Reply:You can cut them off yourself. Use a small pair of scissors, or a razor blade and take them off. If they are in a hard to reach place have someone else do it. Just be careful not to remove the skin you want to keep.
Reply:Well you can rip them off. But then you might also bleed and bleed and may end up in the hospital anyway. I recommend going to have them removed. I am sure it's like warts now-a-days you can have em' froze off probably.

Reply:depends on how big they are? i get little skin tags i just go to my gp who simply burns them off in seconds!
