Yep the cotton works, I have done a couple that way myself;
How can you get rid of skin tags?
You could go to your gp or tie some cotton round them and they should drop off
Reply:My doctor suggested putting tiny pieces of duct tape over the tags.It takes a few weeks but it does work as I tried it.The cost of having them removed by the doc. has increased greatly and so I appreciated his help with this.
Reply:If they are out of sight-tie them tightly with cotton. It stops blood flow to them and they eventually die and fall off.
Reply:yes, thread tied round them works!
