How is requiring students to wear name-tags going to prevent a school shooting?

Out school is considering preventing a school shooting by requiring students to wear name tags...this befuddles me...please help...

How is requiring students to wear name-tags going to prevent a school shooting?
They should wear uniforms too to prevent drug problems.

Seriously though, it's the PARENTS who prevent these kids from doing such awful things. I love how the media likes to blame it on the internet, the music they listen to, the movies they watch, etc. when their parents are never even around to tell them the difference between right and wrong.
Reply:I don't know either. But good luck playing baseball. I personally can't wait until spring time.
Reply:Most school shootings are committed by kids who are/have been bullied a lot at school. So, they have particular "bullies" they would be going after. Name tags will allow them to easily identify those who he/she is looking for. Therefore cutting down on innocent kids being shot at. So, do yourself a favor. Don't get involved in bullying at school. And, if you know of any bullies at school, try to have a talk with them too about not doing this behavior. Bullies, are kids with problems. Ones which they don't know how to address, so this is their way of taking care of issues they have. A vicious cycle, to say the least. Right?
Reply:Your school is run by idiots, obviously.
Reply:I don't know how this can prevent any type of shooting. I can only see how it can help to find someone who may be suspicious. Like if no one saw the culprit except one person who did not know the culprit and did not know what grade they were in, etc. They may be more easily identifiable because of the name tag. If the school is doing this, they may think about considering a different color for different grades.

I know this will be a pain for you, but there is an advantage. Your name is out there and it also is a conversation starter if you want to meet new people.
Reply:The only use I can see is ease in identifying the bodies AFTER a shooting.
Reply:i think it will help by if someone sees a person shooting they know who it is. at the same time it is dumb because the shooter can pick out students more easily
Reply:great for body bag identity purposes

some people should not be running schools
Reply:it wont prevent it...nothing will...human kindness is the best thing we can ask for in preventing school shootings.
Reply:It helps build morale. And spreads conformity! YAY.

It's so when you see someone with a gun you can say "hey, Chris, is that what that says? Yeah, hey you Chris put down the gun!".
Reply:It won't PREVENT shootings. It might help identify people. But that's it.

It sounds like your school is just coming up with crap to make it seem like they're "addressing" the problem.
Reply:Who came up with that blogona? LoL. Tards!

Change schools. LMBO
Reply:it won't actually stop a person from shooting, but it will help in the following ways.

1) A name tag allows a person to easily and quickly identify a suspect. Because you just look for the name tag instead of trying to remember a person's name in a crisis situation.

2) It makes a way to screen visitors from people who are supposed to be there. If a person has no name tag, they most likely are not supposed to be there.

3) If a person can be easily identified, a person may be less likely to shoot or hurt someone.
Reply:it helps a little. Everyone is a bit freaked out right now and are trying to stop the violence. With name tags people can tell at a glance whether you belong there or not.
