Found a dog that has no identification tags. what do we do?

The older one looks like a black lab. and the little one is black and white. they have tags saying that they got rabies shots in Michigan.

Found a dog that has no identification tags. what do we do?
give them to me :)
Reply:search for owner, if no one shows up take to adoption center or keep as pet
Reply:If they still have thier rabies tags on they can use the number off the tag to track them back to the vet who gave them the rabies shot and then to the owner of the animals. I would contact animal control.
Reply:Take to your local Humane Society or contact animal control
Reply:Try putting up posters of the dogs and what it says on the tags. If no one claims them, keep them or give them to the adoption agency.
Reply:put up posters. then after like 10 or so days [you have to ask a police man or someone like that for the exact amount] if nobody claims him you can keep him.

wtf is that pickture of ^?!
Reply:post signs around town, call the local pound, or SPCA to see if and give them the discription to see if anyone's lost it.

My dog ran away and had no ID cuz of my dumb*** brother and we got him back 2 days later. We left a report at the SPCA and someone who found him called them and his discripction matched ours. After a few days or weeks, do what you want with him. Keep it, give it to someone, or take them to an adoption center.
Reply:Michigan will have the records on the rabies vaccines. Your vet or the humane society will know where to look. If you love the dogs, ask the humane society if you can care for them while the owner is being located. The dogs may be "chipped." Be sure to check for that, as well.

Good luck.
Reply:u should put up missing signs or take it sumwhere so they can adopt it
Reply:u put up post with ur # and put the pic. in the newspaper and if no body answer keep the dog make sure u get the dog get his shots
Reply:Okay lets look at this, you did not find a dog, you found two dogs, they did have id tags in the form of rabies shot tags which should have a serial number on them wheras you can call the state of Michigan and probably get the information you need. If you live in Michigan the dogs are probably owned by someone who lives near you, labs don't tend to wander too far, the other dog is probably a Heinz 57 (blend). The other option is to try the Pound or the best way if they seem to be good dogs is to take them into your home and make them happy, healthy (see a vet) and wise.

Good luck, but remember they will give you unconditional love so give them your all.......
Reply:Take the dog to the vet and get them scanned to see if they are microchipped.
Reply:Search for owners ask around.
Reply:take it vet and see if has a chip in its neck. If they can read the chip they can conntact the owner.
Reply:put up posters in the area that you found them. stand on street corners with them until somebody recognizes them and take them to their owner. you get the point.
Reply:i think you should call the local pound or put up flyers saying that you found a dog. on the flyer describe the dog and possibly put a picture
