Just bought new car and dealer withheld one of the two keys fobs until the tags come in. Ever heard of this?

Until what tags come in? What type of car? I do know that alot of the Key Fobs are rather expensive... i dont think they are keeping them for that reason. but jsut make sure you get it, cause depending on the vehicle they are usually like 80-100$. BTW i sold cars for 2 years in Mass and never heard of that.

Never heard of that. Something does not smell right here. Did you ever see the other fob? If you did, tell him you want it now, if you didn't see it, I'll bet they lost it or they never got it if they had to do a swap. If that is the case they should just be up front with you and tell you what happened. He is trying to B.S. you about some law.

If you signed the Contract....the car is yours....unless the Approval is still pending...otherwise that is your car and they have no right to keep keys....regardless of when the tags come in.

Reply:Nope - never heard of this one. I am betting the second one was lost (happens all the time) and they are stalling on replacing it.

Reply:There's no reason for that, they are stalling. No big deal though. I hope you have it in writing. You can always buy one, they are not too much.
